Smithfield, N.C. — Vincent Joseph McKenna, 85, of Smithfield, N.C., passed away at Sunbridge Care in Mount Olive, N.C., on Aug. 28, 2000.
He was born in Brooklyn on Aug. 8, 1915, the son of the late Thomas J. and Sara (Holland) McKenna.
He was a resident of Clinton County most of his life. He had worked at Powblade for several years and Shelton's Service, both in Plattsburgh. He moved to North Carolina about five years ago.
Survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Vincent W. McKenna of North Carolina, Patrick McKenna of Peru, Dale and Patty McKenna of Goldsboro, N.C., and Calvin (Michael) and Judy McKenna of Peru; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jerry and Judy Austin of Princeton, N.C., and Gerard and Mary Reyell of Morrisonville; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A daughter and two sons died earlier.
The wake was held Aug. 31, 2000, at Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton, N.C., with a burial service following at Baker's Chapel. Rev. Joe Baker officiated. Pallbearers were two sons, Patrick McKenna and Dale McKenna and two grandsons, Thomas Reyell and Benjamin Reyell.
