Baton Rouge, LA. — David Page Fairchild, age 91, passed away at his home in Baton Rouge, LA on Jan. 10, 2002.
He was born in Oswego, N.Y., Jan. 17, 1910, son of George Cooper and Mabel (Dunham) Fairchild.
Mr. Fairchild was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School, having previously attended P.S.T.C. Normal School. He graduated from Hamilton College, a member of the PSIU Fraternity and remained a supporting alumnus member all his life.
He did military service as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Fairchild was predeceased by his wife, Ruth (Bishop) Fairchild and was widower of Frances M. (Dumas) Sorensen Fairchild.
He is survived by his son, D. Page Fairchild (Andrea) of Montreal, Quebec and his daughter, Deborah Bishop Hugh - Jones (Martin) of Baton Rouge, La.; four grandchildren; one great - grandson and a nephew, Samuel D. Fairchild (Francie) of West Chazy, N.Y. He is also survived by his stepson, Carl Sorensen (Jayne) and stepdaughter, Carol Perkins; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2002, at the Chazy Presbyterian Church in Chazy N.Y., at 2 p.m.
