NEW LEBANON — Margaret Louise Shyer and Eric Racine Barie were married Dec. 2, 2006, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, New Lebanon, by the Rev. Lee Smith.The bride is the daughter of Eric and Candace Shyer of Stephentown. She is also the granddaughter of Dr. Harlan Howlett and the late Ethel Howlett of Red Hook, and John and Kate Shyer of Deerfield Beach, Fla. The bridegroom is the son of Mark L. Barie and Christine Racine of Rouses Point. He is also the grandson of Mrs. Hazel Barie of Sebring, Fla., and the late Isadore Barie and Maurice and Lucille Racine of Champlain,Kim Shyer of Chatham, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Best man was Jason Langlois of Queens.Bridesmaids were Sarah Levy of Albany, cousin of the bride, and Alexandra Barie of Rouses Point, sister of the bridegroom.Ushers were Oliver and Sebastian Barie of Rouses Point, brothers of the bridegroom.Margaret Barie is a 1999 graduate of New Lebanon High School and was awarded a B.A. in anthropology from Plattsburgh State in 2003. She earned her master's degree in urban and regional planning from Albany State University in 2005. She is a transportation analyst specializing in geographic information systems with the NYS Department of Transportation in Albany.Eric Barie graduated from Seton Catholic High School and earned his B.A. in marketing at Plattsburgh State in 2003. He is employed with Fairpoint Communications at Kinderhook as marketing manager for their Mid Atlantic Region.After a honeymoon trip to Orlando, Fla., the Baries live in East Greenbush.
