Budget plan to be discussed at Peru Central

PERU — The Peru Central School Board and interested community members will examine a preliminary third draft education and proposed expenditures plan for 2007-2008 at this week's combined regular monthly meeting and eighth budget development workshop public session on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The meeting will be held in the community room near the High School main entrance.
The School Board is anticipated to establish a proposed 2007-2008 budget plan that evening, for voter consideration on May 15.

STOP Domestic Violence to host open house

PLATTSBURGH — Officials from Behavioral Health Services North STOP Domestic Violence will be hosting an open house April 12 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
The event will take place at their new offices at 22 U.S. Oval and will allow the public to learn more about the organization and the services they provide.
The open house is free and all are encouraged to attend.

Malone snow days may be added to vacation

MALONE — Malone Central School District officials have two unused snow days left until the end of the school year to schedule.
If the two days are not used by Wednesday, April 4, the district will add Thursday, April 5, to spring break.
If one day remains unused by Thursday, May 24, the district will add an extra day to the Memorial Day weekend.

Budget meeting set for today at ELCS

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Elizabthtown-Lewis Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. today in the ELCS conference room.
The purpose of the meeting will be budget discussion and any other business that comes before the board. Everyone is welcome.

School district provides budget overview
SARANAC — The Saranac Central School District will give a preliminary presentation of its 2007-2008 budget at 6 p.m. today in the Middle/High School Auditorium. The meeting will provide the community with an overview of the budget and will allow district residents to offer input and feedback to the School Board. The final spending plan is expected to be adopted on April 16.
The regular monthly committee workshop meeting will immediately follow the budget presentation at the Middle School. Some of the items on the agenda include a School Report Card Presentation for grades K-8 by building principals and the employment of particular persons.
A complete agenda is available at the District Office in Dannemora. The Saranac Central School Board of Education encourages the public to attend.

Peru Town Council meets tonight

PERU — The Peru Town Council will hold a workshop at 5:30 p.m. today at Peru Town Hall to discuss 2006 accounting issues and the the 2006 AUD report. The meeting is open to all.
