PERSONAL-INJURY ACCIDENT

WEST CHAZY — A Chazy man was given two tickets after an accident Monday in which two cars hit almost head-on.
State Police based in Plattsburgh said Kenneth R. Ouimette, 39, was driving west on Clark Street about 3:50 p.m. Monday.
He stopped at the intersection with Route 22 and signaled that he intended to turn left onto that road.
After an uninvolved van made a left from Route 22 to Sugarbush Drive, Ouimette started to pull out.
State Police said he didn't see Priscilla R. Menard, 70, of Altona, who was driving north on Route 22.
The cars collided, almost head-on, and both came to rest in the southbound lane.
Ouimette had an injury to his elbow and lower arm and suffered minor bleeding, State Police said. He was treated then released from CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Menard, who suffered chest pain, was admitted and listed in fair condition on Tuesday.
Ouimette was ticketed for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign.
