Airport Lounge holding dart tourney Saturday

PLATSBURGH — The Airport Lounge is holding its annual Bud-Light Dart Tournament this Saturday.
Sign-ups will take place from noon-1 p.m. with play starting at 1:30 p.m. The entry fee is $7 and will be a draw partner.
Trophies, cash prizes, food and drink specials will all be available. Everyone is welcome to participate.

PSU sporting events postponed

PLATTSBURGH — The forecast for bad weather or poor field conditions has postponed the following Plattsburgh State Athletics events: Saturday's baseball doubleheader at SUNYIT (tentatively rescheduled for Monday), Friday's softball doubleheader at Brockport and also Saturday's at Geneseo (no make-up dates announced), and Saturday's track & field at Hamilton (no make-up date announced).

9-pin tourney tonight at Bowl Mart

CHAMPLAIN — Bowl Mart Lanes will hold a 9-pin Tournament tonight at 8 p.m. It will be a three-game singles tournament. Bowlers will use last year's average or a current average is last year's is not available.
Men without an average will use 170, and women will use 140. The handicap is 90 percent of 220. For more info, call Bowl Mart at 297-6106.

Saranac Booster Club honors Towne

PLATTSBURGH — Morris " Big Mo" Towne was recently recognized for his 30 years of outstanding service and dedication to the students and the athletic program at Saranac Central School.
Towne received the Booster Club's Hall of Fame award, which is given to an individual who has made a significant impact to Saranac Central and who has contributed to the organization's service and athletic program in a noteworthy capacity.
He has served as a Physical Education teacher and the school's first Athletic Director and coached boys basketball, soccer, track, cross country and golf. He also introduced girls sports.

Nephew, Trudell lead Progressive bowlers

AUSABLE FORKS — Suzette Nephew and Theresa Trudell took division honors in the March meet of the North Country Progressive Women Bowlers at Riverside Lanes. Nephew bowled a 645 series to top Div. I while Trudell had a 648 to lead Div. II.
The next meet will be Sunday, April 15, at Big D Lanes in Moira with squad time 1 p.m.

PYH to postpone play during Easter recess

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh Youth Hockey spring league will suspend play during the Easter break next week for all levels.
Games will resume the week of April 16.

Keeseville women's softball seeks players

KEESEVILLE — The Keeseville Women's Medium-Pitch Softball League is looking for players for the 2007 season. Plattsburgh Babe Ruth to hold sign-up

PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh Babe Ruth Baseball will be holding its final registration for all new and returning players on Monday, April 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the Stafford Middle School.
Any player age 13-15 is eligible to register. The cost is $55 for city residents and $85 for non-city residents. Proof of age and residency is required, A limited number of spots are available.

Town of Plattsburgh sign-up under way

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh is now accepting registration for all the programs offered by this department throughout the summer and fall. Programs include baseball, softball, t-ball, swimming, fall soccer and many others.
Summer brochures are being mailed to all homeowners in the town and are also available at the town office during regular business hours. Registrations will be accepted through April 30. Any registrations received after this date will be placed on a waiting list. All participants must register to play in the town they reside in before seeking a release to play elsewhere.
Parents and guardians must sign the registration forms, which can either be downloaded from the town website:, or forms can be picked up, fillwed out and dropped off at the following locations: Cadyville Gulf, Wooden Ski & Wheel, Cumberland Bay Market, Bill's Mini-Mart, Ukie's Store in Buckley's Plaza, Nadim's Store, Wallace Hill Park (drop box on the building) or the lobby of the town office.
Anyone interested in coaching or in becoming a paid offcial for games should call the recreation department, at 562-6860, between 7 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
