ROUSES POINT — Demolition of the former Hotel Holland is due to start Monday, April 16.LVI Services of Massena will handle the asbestos removal, haul away the existing debris pile and tear down and dispose of the remaining structure. The Holland, owned by WWBI TV Inc., burned June 6, 2006, and was partially torn down that day after officials determined its instability endangered passersby. After Gary and Susan Clarke of WWBI failed to remove the building, the village hired Randy Bedard Excavating to do the work. But a state inspection turned up asbestos, and Bedard contracted with LVI, which specializes in removal of the toxic material, to take over. The effort was suspended in early January, waiting for the spring thaw."When it's done, they'll fill in the hole, and it will be covered with topsoil and seeded," said Code Enforcement Officer Michael Tetreault Jr.—By Staff Writer Suzanne Moore
