PLATTSBURGH — Someone broke into the Homestead Restaurant on Tom Miller Road and stole about $300.
State Police based in Plattsburgh said the thief got in sometime between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 a.m. Monday, first trying to pry open a door and then breaking a window on the west side of the restaurant.
The person took $100 in rolled change and a bank bag with $200 in various denominations.
The investigation was continuing Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call 563-3761.
PLATTSBURGH — A Plattsburgh man was charged with breaking into Bob's Instant Plumbing on Easter Sunday.
State Police in Plattsburgh were notified about a vehicle in the parking lot of the building on Route 9 in the Town of Plattsburgh about 1:10 p.m. Troopers noticed that someone had been in the building and had taken plumbing supplies.
State Police charged Joseph W. Monteleone Jr., 23, with third-degree burglary.
He was arraigned in Peru Town Court and sent to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He's due in Plattsburgh Town Court on Thursday.
PLATTSBURGH — State Police are investigating a break-in at a private residence in the Town of Plattsburgh.
The thief forced entry through a window on the east side of a house at 8 Lakeview Drive.
A computer monitor and poker table were taken.
The burglary was noticed at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The investigation was continuing Monday. Anyone with information is asked to call 563-3761.
CHAZY— State Police are investigating a burglary at the Homestead Restaurant on Route 9 here that was believed to have occurred sometime overnight Sunday.
The burglary was reported early Monday morning when staff returned to the restaurant and noticed that someone had pried open the back door and taken about $55 in change and various bills from the register area.
Police were continuing to investigate Monday afternoon and are asking anyone with information to call 563-3761.


ELLENBURG — A passenger was hurt when an ATV crashed in a grass field off Route 5 in Ellenburg about 4 p.m. Sunday.
State Police based in Plattsburgh said Walter R. Trombley, 50, of Ellenburg Center was driving east on a snow-covered field that he owns south of West Hill Road when he tried to make a left turn. The ATV hit a rut and overturned, partially ejecting passenger Corey M. Bulriss, whose age and address were not available Monday.
Bulriss suffered tissue damage to his lower right leg, State Police said, and was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone by private car. He was in good condition at the hospital on Monday.
Trombley and Bulriss were both ticketed for not wearing helmets.
