Coed quad volleyball tourney set for Saturday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team will host the Fourth-Annual Coed Quads Tournament Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Memorial Hall on Rugar St. It is open to males and females, ages 18 and up.
All girls' teams will be allowed. Each side will have four players on the court, including at least one female. The cost is $15 per person with up to five players allowed per team.
The tournament is to benefit the Plattsburgh State women's volleyball team.
The deadline for entries is Friday. To enter, or for more information, contact Dena O'Connell, at 569-5142.

Saranac schedules summer sports sign-up

SARANAC — The Town of Saranac will hold summer registration April 16 and April 19, from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Town Hall for softball, baseball, T-ball, and swimming lessons.
Parents/guardians are urged to register their child in order to allow for the proper number of teams to be formed.
Also, a Youth Commission Meeting will be held Monday, April 16, at 6 p.m., at the Town Hall. All residents are invited. For more information, contact Brent Cringle, at 293-8312.

Barracks Golf Course set to open today

PLATTSBURGH — The Barracks Golf Course will open for the season today at 9 a.m. Carts will be permitted. A voluntary course cleanup for members will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m.

City Rec Dept. offers open soccer hours

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department has scheduled open soccer hours for anyone over the age of 18 on Thursdays, from 7:30-11 p.m., at the Crete Center. The cost is $5 per person.

BEEKMANTOWN — The Northern Tier Sno-Runners will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Beemantown V.F.W. The public is welcome.

Dannemora holds baseball/softball sign-up

DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Youth Commission is conducting registration for youth baseball and softball at the Village Office on 121 Emmons St. until April 25. If a child is not signed up by this date, there will be no guarantee the child will be able to participate.

Youngsters shine in skill competition

PLATTSBURGH — The Clinton County Youth Bureau held the basketball segment of the Junior Olympic Skills Competition on Saturday. Five local competitors were crowned champions.

PLATTSBURGH — Twenty-six local shooters from eight Clinton County communities took part in the Clinton County Youth Bureau's Third-Annual Free-Throw Contest Saturday at the Old Base Gym with nine competitors emerging as winners.
