CHAZY — The Town of Chazy Web site is shaping up, but citizens' input is needed before it goes online.
Town Supervisor Staub Spiegel invites local organizations to submit meeting dates for an events calendar and even vacation or other photos of interest from residents for a page designed for the purpose.
The Web site was designed by Rory Yegerman, a 2006 graduate of Chazy Central Rural School, where Spiegel sought expertise for the project.
Under the guidance of Computer and Technology Coordinator Laurie Parsons, a group of students will learn how to update the site, which will be done every month or so, Spiegel said.
It will include a page on local history, a link to the CCRS Web site and downloadable forms now only available from the Town Office, including those for building permits and dog licenses.
Information on town events, including open skating and the summer swim program, will appear, and, eventually, so will Town Council minutes.
"We want to do a lot of things that people will be interested in," he said.
The initial cost for setting up the Web site was about $350, Spiegel said. Chazy and Westport Telephone Company's cost for hosting it is about the same amount per year.
"We're hoping it's up and running before the end of the school year," Spiegel said.
