LAKE PLACID — Rebecca Gero and Cory Barton were married Sept. 30, 2006, at Mount Van Hoevenberg, Lake Placid, by the Rev. Virginia Pierce.
The bride is the daughter of Francis and Barbara Gero of AuSable Forks. The bridegroom is the son of Jarrell Barton of AuSable Forks and Brenda Clark of AuSable Forks.
Lindsey Bombard of AuSable Forks, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Best man was Charles Haywood Jr., also of AuSable Forks.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Hopkins of Keeseville, Amanda Straight of Lake Placid, Morgan Devins of Albany, Dana Haywood of AuSable Forks, Corie Linehan of Glens Falls, Melinda Frazier of Lake Placid and Amy Schlegel of Plattsburgh.
Ushers were Travis Barton and William Barton, both of AuSable Forks, the bridegroom's brothers; Jeremy Barton of AuSable Forks, cousin of the bridegroom; Justin Soule of Keeseville; Ben Fish of New Hampshire, the bridegroom's cousin; and Bobby Haywood and Josh Haywood, both of AuSable Forks.
A reception was held at the Comfort Inn in Lake Placid.
Rebecca Barton graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in Clintonville and from Plattsburgh State in 2004, majoring in psychology, with a B.S. degree. She will obtain her master's (M.A. and C.A.S.) in school psychology in May. She is employed at Peru Central School.
Cory Barton graduated from AuSable Valley Central and Clinton Community College with an associate's degree in criminal justice and served in the U.S. Army with the infantry for four years where he was a sergeant. He is employed at the Federal Correctional Institution in Ray Brook.
After a wedding cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, the Bartons reside in AuSable Forks.
