SALEM — Five area cyclists competed in Saturday's Battenkill-Roubaix, a 55-mile road race. A quarter of the course was on dirt roads.
Bruce Beauharnois of Plattsburgh placed seventh in the men's Category 5 Under-35 race, and former Plattsburgh State and Beekmantown track standout Jeremy Drowne was eighth.
Plattsburgh's Daniel Anhalt took third in the men's Category 5 Over-45 race, and Port Kent's Scott Woodward placed seventh. Bruce Bunn of Plattsburgh also earned a top-20 finish.
Beauharnois, Anhalt and Woodward all ride for Placid Planet, and Bunn rides for Team ROAR.
The race, modeled after the Paris-Roubaix held in France, featured more than 1,000 riders.
