Barracks men's league announces meeting

PLATTSBURGH — There will be an organizational meeting for the Barracks' Tuesday Men's League on Tuesday, April 24 at 6 p.m. at the Barracks Clubhouse.

Adirondack Golf & Country Club re-opens

PERU — The Adirondack Golf & Country Club has re-opened for the third time this season and tee times are still available for the weekend.
All holes are open to play, there are no temporary greens and motorized carts are available. The practice range and putting green are also open.
The course is in excellent condition and the greens have already been cut. To schedule a tee time, or for more information, call the golf shop, at 643-8403, or 1-800-346-1761.

AuSable seeks Hall of Fame nominations

CLINTONVILLE — The Hall of Fame committee from AuSable Valley will be accepting nominations for the 2007 class until June 30.

Ultimate Disk progam looking for teams

JAY — The Jay/Black Brook Youth Commission is looking for 17- and 18-year-old boys and girls to participate in the new summer program Ultimate Disk presented by the Clinton County Youth Bureau. It is a free six-week frisbee program to run in June and July.

Little League tryouts slated for today

PLATTSBURGH — Tryouts for Plattsburgh Little League's Major Division will be at 10 a.m. today at South Acres park rather than Penfield Park. Athletes should arrive 10 minutes early.
Any athlete not signed up may do so at this time. All athletes must be at least nine as of May 1, but under the age of 13 prior to May 1.
The draft date for the major and minor divisions will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. All coaches must attend.

Horseshoe league forming

WEST PLATTSBURGH — The Fountain Brothers American Legion Post 1619 will hold a Wednesday night horseshoe league starting Wednesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. Competitors will draw partners. Sign up at the Legion or call Gary Giles at 561-0216.

YMCA registering for t-ball, coach pitch

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh YMCA is registering for its t-ball and Coach Pitch leagues, which will start May 12 at Blumette Park on Sandra Ave. in Plattsburgh. Children from all area communities are welcome to participate.
The practice/games will run for 60-90 minutes on Saturday mornings for 8 weeks. The three-five-year-old youths will go from 9-10:15 a.m. with the children ages 6-7 playing from 10:30 a.m.-noon.
All children will receive a t-shirt, hat and trophy. Volunteer coaches will be needed for this program.

North Bowl to host Youth Singles shootout

PLATTSBURGH — North Bowl Lanes will hold a Youth Singles Shootout Tournament on Sunday with qualifying shifts from noon-2:15 p.m. Qualifying will consist of four games across eight lanes. The top 15 will qualify with the top qualifier receiving a first-round bye.
Entry fee is $25 and first place will be $100. The tournament will be single elimination.

Peru schedules final registration

PERU — The Town of Peru Youth Commision will hold final registration for its summer activities Saturday, April 28, at Laphams Mills Recreation Park from 9 a.m.-noon. For more information, contact John Flynn at 726-6231.

Adirondack ladies' golf meeting Tuesday

PERU — The Adirondack Golf & Country Club Ladies League will hold an informational meeting and registration Tuesday, at 6 p.m., at the golf course. The season will begin the week of May 7.
Anyone interested in joining the league is encouraged to attend. However, the meeting is optional and it is not necessary to attend to register. You can register until May 1.
Ladies who participated in the league last year will receive information and an entry form in the mail. Also, information and entry forms are available at the golf shop or can by obtained by calling 643-8403.

Dannemora golf league schedules meeting

DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Fun Golf League will hold an organizational meeting Wednesday, April 25, at 3 p.m., at the American Legion Post 20 home on the Quarry Road.
If you plan to play but cannot attend the meeting, call Bob, Rich or Jerry before April 25.

Ping Demo Day slated for May 10

PERU — A Ping Demo Day will be held May 10 on the driving range of Adirondack Golf & Country Club. Ping representative Stuart Miller to field questions. The Demo Day will run from 1-5 p.m. and will be open to all.
Golf balls will be provided. Golfers will be able to try the new G-5 and Rapture drivers.

West Chazy sports sign-up set for today

WEST CHAZY — The West Chazy Youth Commission will hold registration today for baseball and softball. Any boy or girl interested in playing should call John Munson, at 493-5566.

City offers indoor open soccer on Thursdays

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department will once again hold open soccer Thursdays, from 7:30-11 p.m., at the Crete Center. The session is open to anyone 18 years or older and the cost is $5 per person.
