ABITA SPRINGS, La. - William Anthony Vilardo of Abita Springs, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999. Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late William Vilardo MD and Helen (Beers) Vilardo.
He was a 1964 graduate of Cranwell Preparatory School in Lenox, Mass. and attended Loyola University in New Orleans, La. Mr. Vilardo was a systems manager for AKM Incorp. and Volks Constructors Incorp. He was president of Abita Recreation Center in Abita Springs, La. and league baseball president of the West Street Tammany Dixie Youth Association League.
Mr. Vilardo was the beloved father of Victor A, W. Brandon, Michael, Sterling, Evan, Julian, Anna, and Megan Vilardo; Shilo V. Bruhl, Kelli V. Sommers, brother of Stephen, Michael and Joseph Vilardo; Sharon Maneri and Valerie Ezzo; nephew of Joseph and Alfred Vilardo; grandfather of Dillion and Hunter Gihaus. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church in Abita Springs, La. Interment will be at Abita Springs Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 10 p.m. today, Dec. 17 and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Schoen Funeral Home, 1414 S. Tyler St., Covington, La.
