Port Henry — Andrew M. Anderson, 73, of Henry Hill Road in Port Henry, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Whitehall on Aug. 28, 1926, the son of the late Maurice and Lula (Moore) Anderson.
He retired from Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, Mass., in 1965 and then returned to Port Henry, where he owned and operated a machine shop. He was a member and past master of Morning Sun Lodge 142 F&AM in Mineville, a member of Allepo Unit of Shriners in Troy and BPOE Elks Lodge 1494 in Ticonderoga. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Phinney) Anderson; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cathi and Joseph O'Connor, Amy and Ray Collupy, Cindy and Thomas Delcamp and Cheryl and Christopher Nee; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kathleen Anderson; a brother, Willard Anderson; a sister, Nancy Abbey; ten grandchildren, Cpl. Shawn O'Connor, USMC, Brian Collupy, Amy Beth Collupy, Christine Delcamp, Naura Delcamp, Andrew Anderson, Thomas Anderson, Haley Anderson, Caitlin Nee and William Nee; and one great-grandchild, Brittany Fulti.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Moriah, with Rev. Alice Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Port Henry.
