Plattsburgh — Arthur Thomas Mace, 40, of Route 3 in Plattsburgh, formerly of AuSable Forks, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, due to a car/pedestrian accident in the Town of Plattsburgh.
He was born Nov. 24, 1959, in Plattsburgh, the son of Leigh and Leona (Baker) Mace.
Art was a chef for 20 years and was employed at the Butcher Block in Plattsburgh and at the Butcher Block in Raleigh, N.C. He recently was employed as head chef at Mangia Pizza & Pasta Restaurant in Plattsburgh. He also enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Sarantopoulos Mace, who he married on May 17, 1990, in Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters, Nichole Mace and Danielle Mace, both of Cadyville; three brothers, Gary Mace of Amenia, John Mace of Orford, N.H. and Rodney Mace of Mineville; a sister, Carol Troccoli of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; an uncle, Carl Maicus of AuSable Forks; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents died before him.
Visitation hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks. Burial will follow in the family plot at Holy Name Cemetery in AuSable Forks.
