Plattsburgh — Mr. Albert Michael Donna, 78, of Prospect Ave., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Sheldon, Vt., on Jan. 1, 1922, the son of Roy and Ellen (Demar) Donna.
Albert was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from February 1941 to January 1946. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years and was a Postal Inspector in Bayshore, Long Island, Oneonta, Plattsburgh and New York City, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of and a service officer for the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). He was also a member of the Fr. Real LaBrie Knights of Columbus Council 7248 in Treadwells Mills, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 in Plattsburgh, the American Legion in St. Albans, Vt. and the National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors.
Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen (Roche) Donna of Plattsburgh. They were married Aug. 27, 1946, in St. Albans, Vt. Albert also leaves four daughters and two sons-in-law; Barbara and I. John Neubauer of Lake George, Susan Bordeau of Plattsburgh, Kathleen Donna of Rutland, Vt. and Karen and Richard Conner of Fultonham. He took great pride in his four grandchildren; Michael Bordeau and his wife, Mandi of Plattsburgh, Dr. Kevin Bordeau of Norfolk, Va., Kelly and Mary Neubauer of Lake George; and his great-grandson, Dominick Michael Roger Bordeau. He leaves four sisters, two brothers-in-law, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Lillian Reed, Marguerite and James Messier, Arthur and Janet Donna, all of Sheldon, Vt., Theresa Gendreau of St. Albans, Vt., Gordon and Marjorie Donna of Burlington, Vt., Anne and James Sanderlin of Moyock, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Albert was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Ronald Donna and Leo Paul Donna; and a son-in-law, Roger Bordeau.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in. St. Peter
