Westport — William David LaMountain passed away on Nov. 1st, 2000, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
'Bill', as he was called by his family and friends, was born on Nov. 14, 1924, to Frederick and Nellie (Hayes) LaMountain in Essex.
He came from a family of ten brothers and sisters. Bill worked diligently for Rock Harbor Farm for over 40 years, along with many other jobs. Among many things, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
This husband, father and grandfather greatly influenced the lives of those he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Pearl (Clark) LaMountain; four children, Bernard and his wife Monika LaMountain of Columbus, Ga., Gary and his wife Diana LaMountain of Chester, Va., Janet and her husband Frank Holland of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Nancy and her husband Donald Miller from Elizabethtown; three sisters, Helen Sharrow of Whallonsburg, Grace Garand of Westport and Esther Auclaire of Pottersville; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Saturday, Nov. 4th, at the New Burt Cemetery in Whallonsburg at 10 a.m.
