Syracuse — William Olin Tart Jr., 46, of Miles Avenue in Syracuse, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Syracuse.
He was born in Albany on March 14, 1954, the son of William and Eleanor Tart and resided in Plattsburgh before moving to Syracuse.
He received his B.A. from Sienna College in 1976 and was also a graduate of UNIFIRST Management Institute. He was employed as a sales manager of UNIFIRST Corp. since 1992. He was named Sales Manager of the Year 2000 in the U.S. for UNIFIRST.
He was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, a member of the Elks and an avid golfer participating in many leagues in the Syracuse area.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Gerka; two daughters, Courtney and Lindsay Tart of Long Island; his parents, William and Eleanor Tart of Plattsburgh; his grandmother, Clara Tart of Essex; two sisters, Michele Pendergraft of Va. and Suzanne Tart of Calif.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home in Syracuse. Services will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse. Interment will be in the Assumption Cemetery.
