New Bedford, Mass. — William "Bill" G. Bezio Sr., 57, passed away Jan. 5, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 19, 1943, the son of the late Norman V. and Violet M. (Thompson) Bezio.
Survivors include his wife, Scarlett (Cobb); his stepmother, Ruth (Trombley-Bezio) Sweeney of Castorland; six daughters, Candice Bezio-Green of Palm Bay, Fla., Tammy Bezio-Young, Violet, Melanie and Melissa, all of Bangor, Maine, and Sarah of New York; five sons, Joseph of Bangor, Maine, William Jr., Billy, Rocky and Norman, all of New York; a brother, Norman Bezio Jr.; a half-brother, Bernard Bezio; and a stepbrother, Donald Sawyer, all of New York; three sisters, Shari (Shirley) Heikkinen of Lancaster, Calif., Linda Souder of Wasilla, Alaska, Violet Moesh of Morrisonville; a half-sister, Peggy Adams of New York; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Gloria (Pruden), and several aunts and uncles.
Following cremation, his body was flown to Alaska to be returned to Plattsburgh in the fall for burial in St. Peter's Cemetery next to his parents according to his wishes.
