Plattsburgh — Mr. William Henry "Bill" Titherington, 68, of Ridgewood Drive, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Liverpool, England, on Nov. 11, 1932, the son of the late William and Eunice (Roberts) Titherington.
Bill was a veteran of the British Army. He immigrated to the United States from England in 1976. While living in England, he owned and operated several businesses. Bill was a major contributor to the start up and success of Mold Rite Plastics as plant manager. At the time of his death, he was semi-retired from Mold Rite. Bill enjoyed golf and traveling to visit his son Brian and his family in England and his daughter Wendy and her family in Australia.
Bill is survived by his son, Brian and his wife Maureen Titherington of England; a daughter, Wendy and her husband Richard Martyn of Australia; his companion of many years, Marilyn Bates of Plattsburgh; a brother Geoffrey Titherington of Plattsburgh; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and George Syrnicki of Buxton, England; four grandchildren, Mark and Philip Titherington, Steven and Andrew Martyn; and many nieces and nephews residing both in the United States and England.
Bill was predeceased by a brother, Peter Derek Titherington of Plattsburgh; and an uncle, William Roberts of Prestatyn, Wales. Bill will be sadly missed by everyone and loved by all.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. from the United Methodist Church on Beekman Street.
