MALONE — Alys Glazier Cox, 90, of Malone, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at the Alice Hyde Memorial Hospital. She had previously been a patient of the Alice Hyde Nursing Home since August of 1997.
She was born in Owls Head on Aug. 31, 1910, the daughter of Albon and Alta (Smith) Glazier. Her parents predeceased her.
She graduated from Franklin Academy in 1931 and took a two-year course at Wagner's Community College in Malone. On Nov. 4, 1935, she was married to Michael Cox of Detroit, Mich., at St. Joseph's Church in Malone, with Monsignor Francis Kenney performing the ceremony. The marriage was later dissolved by divorce.
She was employed at Glazier Meat Packing Company, holding the position of secretary and treasurer for 37 years. She loved traveling and collecting dolls and music boxes.
