Keeseville — William J. Rock Sr., 66, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Osceola Regional Hospital in Kissimmee, Fla.
He was born in Keeseville on Oct. 24, 1934, the son of Henry and Leah (Abare) Rock.
He was founder and first governor of the Kissimmee Moose Lodge 2056, and held the highest honor of Pilgrim Degree of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 10, The VFW and DAV of Kissimmee. Locally, he was a past member of the Keeseville Fire Department and a Life Member of the Keeseville Elks Lodge 2072.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica of Kissimmee, Fla.; two daughters, Poppy of Plattsburgh and Meegan of Keeseville; three sons, William, Jr. and Christopher, both of Keeseville and Regan of Plattsburgh; one step-daughter, Debbie Dillon of Wisconsin; three brothers, Dick and Ron of Keeseville and Herb of Plattsburgh; one sister, Bev Farrell of Fern Lake; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Gary
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 15, 2001, at 7 p.m. at the Keeseville Elks Lodge 2072. Members of the Elks, Moose 2390, and the American Legion 504 will participate in the service. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
