LAKE PLACID — Albert K. Bond, 57, of Averyville Road, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
He was born in Malone on Dec. 22, 1943, the son of Kermit and Rita (Shutts) Bond.
Mr. Bond is survived by his wife, Wendy (Bickford) Bond of Lake PIacid; two daughters Melissa (Bond) Kane and Heidi (Bond) Lyon and her husband Rick, both of Lake Placid; a step-son Terry Preston and his wife Karen; He is also survived by three sisters, Anne Grethe and her husband Edward of Kenne Bunk, Maine, Roberta Shutts of Hampton and Margaret Shutts of MerrilI; Al is also survived by six brothers, James Shutts and his wife Fran of Ellenburg Depot; John Shutts and his wife Bea of Beekmantown; Thomas Shutts and his wife Mary of Merrill; Donald Shutts and his wife Laurie of Plattsburgh, Louis Shutts and his wife Lisa of Saranac and John David Miller and his wife Debbie of Tupper Lake; He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews.
A sister, Jane Shutts died earlier.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and was involved with the American Legion Post 326 baseball team for many years.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2001, at 1 p.m. Rev. Ernest Sanders, of Corinth, will officiate. Burial will be in the North Elba Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends following the service will be held at the American Legion Post 326 in Lake Placid.
Family suggests donations be made to the Lake PIacid Vol. Ambulance Service or the Essex Co. Heart Association in his memory.
