Mineville — Amy E. Trybendis, 51, of Plank Road in Mineville, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at her home in Mineville.
She was born on May 27, 1950, in Ticonderoga, N.Y., the daughter of Stephen and Helen (Flint) Trybendis.
She was a loving mother to her son, Damon, who gave her much joy. She took care of her mother for many years.
Amy was a high honors student and graduate of Plattsburgh State University of NY. She was a math teacher who taught in local schools and at Moriah Shock Correctional Facility. She was also a beautician.
She liked to work with her art projects, flowers, garden, crafts and decorating.
Amy is survived by her son, Damon Stach Trybendis of Mineville; her sisters, Karen A. Frampton of Long Island, Victoria Baker of Lake Placid and Mary and Daniel Slattery of Moriah; her sister-in-law, Julie Trybendis of Hudson Falls; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents, Helen and Stephen Trybendis; a brother, Stephen M. Trybendis; her maternal grandparents, Elsie and Joseph Martin; and her paternal grandparents, Amelia and Stephen Trybendis.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, with Father Michael Toth officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Moriah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
