Ellenburg Depot — Alice Joyce Collins, 88, formerly of Ellenburg Depot, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.
She was born in Mooers Forks on June 24, 1913, the daughter of John and Rosina (Provost) Morrison.
Alice married Elmer Roy Collins Dec. 21, 1931, in Chateaugay. He predeceased her on June 13, 1964.
She retired from Ellenburg Central School (NACS) after 31 years of service.
She attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Ellenburg Depot.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Romona and James Trombley of Dannemora; two granddaughters, Melody and William LaPoint of Chazy and Crystal Rugar of Plattsburgh; Two grandsons, Jody Trombley of Plattsburgh and Jamie Trombley of Plattsburgh; eight great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Billie Jo LaPoint, Hayley, Lucas and Colter Rugar, Shari and Jodi Lynn Dillon and Samantha Trombley; Five great- great-grandchildren, Scotty Clausen Jr., Abbigail LaPoint, Nathanial Lashway, Caylie Godin and Chelsea Trombley. She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth (Bessie) Castine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by one sister, Sarah Clark; and four brothers, Clifton, William, Herbert and Wesley.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Services in Ellenburg Depot. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sheldon Hill Cemetery in Ellenburg Depot.
