Elizabethtown — Alvin W. Pierce, 61, of Route 9 in Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born in Essex, N.Y., on Dec. 30, 1939, the son of Raymond and Emily (Alden) Pierce.
Alvin was a past member of the Elizabethtown Fire Department and the Kingdom Club Association. He was the town constable for the Town of Elizabethtown and was a avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a gun enthusiast and regarded by many as an expert marksman.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Darcy and Charles "Chuckie" Manon of Westport; three sons, Alvin "Chipper" Pierce and Gwen Carpenter of Westport, Cory and Linda Pierce of Westport and Micheal and Josie Pierce of the U.S. Army, Korea; one brother, Vernon Pierce of Westport; three stepsons, Robert Hald and Peter Hald of Florida and John Hald of Long Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two nephews and one niece.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, Dec. 15th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Richard Hoff of the Westport Bible Church at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brainards Forge Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
