Mooers Forks — Mr. Amos J. LaBarge, 80, of White Road in Mooers Forks, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Altona, N.Y., on March 10, 1921, son of the late Frank and Annie (Bushey) LaBarge.
He enjoyed playing music. He was also an avid hunter. He attended Holy Angels Church in Altona.
He is survived by six sons and four daughters-in-law, John and JoAnne LaBarge of Chazy, Carl LaBarge of Mooers Forks, Raymond and Mary LaBarge of Ellenburg, Scott and Tracy LaBarge of West Chazy, Keith LaBarge of Altona and Earl and Sara LaBarge of Ellenburg; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Alverda and George Seymour of Fort Lee, Va., JoAnn and Leon Seymour of West Chazy, Linda Brown of Rouses Point and Shelly and Steven Slocum of Wingdale, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Alden and Leah LaBarge of Ellenburg; a sister, Viola Warren of Moira; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Amos was predeceased by his wife, Doris LaBarge; a daughter, Angeline; one brother, Frank LaBarge; and one sister, Dorie Garrow.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at 10 a.m. from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Burial will take place in the family plot of Holy Angels Cemetery.
