CROWN POINT — William D. Passino, 65, of 1910 Creek Road in Crown Point, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002 at the Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga following a brief illness.
He was born in Montpelier, Vt. on July 27, 1937, the son of Richard and Irene (Devine) Passino.
He was a veteran of the Army, serving stateside from 1960 to 1962.
Willie was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In both high school and later on town teams he excelled in the Keeseville area in both baseball and basketball.
He was a member of the Keeseville Elks, the Ticonderoga Knights of Columbus, Adirondack Aerie-Ti Eagles and the Ticonderoga American Legion.
Retiring after 33 years at International Paper Co. in Ticonderoga, he was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Winifred Snow; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and William Collier of Bellows Falls, Vt.; three granddaughters, Shelby, Sierra and Sydney; one grandson, Jacob; two brothers, Richard Jr. and Gary Passino, both of Keeseville; one sister, Patricia Smith of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews.
