PLATTSBURGH — Albert J. LaTour, 76, of Bailey Avenue, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Plattsburgh on March 8, 1926, the son of Herbert and Theresa (Bashaw) LaTour.
Albert was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Central Europe and Rhineland campaigns.
On June 14, 1974, he married the former Elaine D. LaPoint at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.
Albert worked at the Imperial Paper Co. for 28 years and then as a truck driver for George LaValley, an independent U.S. Mail contractor.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church. Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Plattsburgh; one son, Calvin and Pam LaTour of Murrieta, Calif., two daughters and one son-in-law, Dina Blackmon of Ontario, Calif., and Dian and John Penrose of Visalia, Calif.; one brother, Donald LaTour of Plattsburgh; one sister, Doris Graham of West Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and one daughter, Alice LaTour Arnold.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery in the spring.
