Keeseville — William M. Bill Nelson, 71, of Hill Street, Keeseville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Healthcare Center in Burlington, Vt., following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Brooklyn on April 11, 1931, the son of Mitchell and Sophie Nelson.
He was an independent actor but best known for voice-over of commercials both locally and nationally. He also appeared in three episodes of Law and Order and had a starring roll in the 1989 comedy Cadillac Man with Robin Williams.
Prior to his film career, he was the in-house vice president of U.S. Tobacco.
He was an avid antique collector.
Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia K. Strong of Keeseville; one son, Gil Nelson of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public services. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Henry K. Freedman Renal Center in Plattsburgh.
