Morrisonville —Albina M. Myers (Nana) 94, was taken into our Lord's hands peacefully on Good Friday, April 18, 2003, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Myers Sr., on Aug. 12, 1990, and her son, Jerry Myers, on Dec. 8, 1983, and now joins them in eternal rest.
Albina was born Oct. 9, 1908, to Henry and Clara (Pellerin) Dupell. She was a woman of great faith with a great devotion to our Lord. She was a strong spiritual influence on the many lives she touched.
Along with raising her children, Albina and her husband John established a business, Myers Garage in West Plattsburgh. They worked side by side for many years until Albina's illness in 1962. She became one of the earliest pacemaker recipients. In spite of many health obstacles, she still managed to do the bookkeeping until their retirement in 1978. Albina's busy hands created many lovely crafts, which became treasures for her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, James H. Myers and his wife Lynda, Jeanette (Myers) Covey and her husband Mahlon, Joyce (Myers) Miller and her husband Larry, John W. Myers Jr. and his wife Bonnie and a daughter-in-law, Joan (Myers) Duchin and her husband Harvey; her 17 grandchildren, Daniel Myers and his wife Chris, Gregory Myers and his wife Karen, Mary Jo (Myers) Gouge and her husband Larry, Kim (Covey) St. Louis, Beth (Covey) Stanton and her husband Tim, John Covey and his wife Tina, Mary (Covey) Fowler and her husband Dennis, Carol (Covey) Carpenter and her husband Steven, Scott Miller and his wife Beth, Carla (Miller) Edwards and her husband Michael, Jennifer (Miller) Donoghue and her husband Kevin, Gina (Myers) Rickert and her husband Walter, Alita (Myers) Desso and her husband Mark, Heidi, April, Seth and Luke Myers; also 27 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Albina is also survived by one brother, Arthur Dupell and his wife Jean; two sisters, Agnes Maynard and Cecile Buckingham; one brother-in-law, Dana Blood and his wife Louise; and four sisters-in-law, Marilyn Cunningham and Ida, Nellie and Elizabeth Dupell.
Albina was predeceased by one sister, Rita Blood; and five brothers, Albert, Edward, Wilfred, Philmore and Edmund Dupell.
She was greatly loved. All will miss her wonderful smile, constant prayers, love and support.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 21, 2003, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at 11 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
