Burlington, Vt. — Abram LaValley Fosher, 88, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.
He was born in Coopersville, N.Y., on Nov. 6, 1914, the son of Ephriam and Ella (LaValley) Fosher.
During his life, he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps, Bell Aircraft in Buffalo, N.Y., Delaware and Hudson Railway and retired from Ayerst Labs in Rouses Point, N.Y., in 1973.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother, Ina and Alonzo LaValley of Elmira, N.Y., Norma Coyle of Orange Park, Fla., and Chudleigh and Claire Fosher of Coopersville, N.Y.; one daughter and three sons, Cecelia and Richard Armstrong of Waltham, Vt., Richard and Therese Fosher of King's Bay, N.Y., Robert and Maria Fosher of Brockport, N.Y., and John and Linda Fosher of Rouses Point, N.Y. Also surviving him are seven grandchildren; nine great - grandchildren; and many loving family members.
His beloved wife, Cecile (Anctil) Fosher; sister Effie Miliken; and two brothers, Irving and Amos Fosher, all preceded before him.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 21, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Parish in Rouses Point, N.Y. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coopersville, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rouses Point Volunteer Fire Department.
