ROUSES POINT — Andrew J. Major, 82, of Rouses point, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point.
He was born in Champlain on Aug. 24, 1920, the son of William and Julie (Pelletier) Major.
He was employed as an electrician for more than 35 years at Ayerst Laboratory in Rouses Point and was a member of the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge #621.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene (Frenyea) Major of Rouses Point; a son, Ronald Major of Cummington, Mass.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Timothy Lincourt of Rouses Point and Judith and Joseph Kramarczyk of Waverly; two brothers, Leo Major of Champlain and Myron Major of Schenectady; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and four brothers, William, James, Michael and Lawrence Major, died before him.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain is in charge of arrangements.
