Westport, N.Y. — Agnes M. Donahue Pierce, 84, loving mother, grandmother and sister, was placed in the Lord's hands Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.
Agnes was born Agnes Mary Donahue on Dec. 11, 1919, the daughter of James and Mary (Downey) Donahue. Agnes was one of ten children.
A lifelong resident of Westport, she was married to Joseph Grover Pierce, who predeceased her in May of 1987. Along with her husband, Agnes was predeceased by her siblings, James, Michael, Marie, Florence, Helen and Evelyn; and her niece, Carol Plonka.
Mrs. Pierce is survived by one daughter, Mari Trybendis of Port Henry; her granddaughters, Abigale Trybendis of Port Henry and Jennifer Carson of Mineville; and her great - grandchildren, Courtney, Stephen and Joseph. Also three sisters, Alice Carey of New Port Richey, Fla., Blanche Brown of Port Henry and Mary Newton of Ticonderoga; a stepdaughter, Jean Parks of Fort Myers, Fla., and her family; along with several nieces and nephews; and good, caring friends.
Agnes was an employee of the Treadwell Estate in Westport for a number of years before her retirement. She was always devoted to her family, mom, Gram, grandchildren and sisters and she will be truly and deeply missed. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, Elvis Presley and her family.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philips Neri Church, Westport, N.Y. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery.
