Plattsburgh — Anita (Rickson) Giles, 89, of South Peru Street, Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Plattsburgh on July 4, 1914, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Rickson.
Anita graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She was a secretary in the Plattsburgh area for many years.
Anita married Frank C. Giles on Aug. 6, 1937, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh by the Rev. J.H. Bachand. Her beloved husband predeceased her on Jan. 1, 1983.
Anita was an avid reader, enjoyed crafts, knitting, playing bridge and watching golf.
Survivors include a cousin, Donald J. Clark of Leesburg, Fla., and her circle of friends in Virginia and Plattsburgh area. Anita will be sadly missed by her extended family, Bruce and Sue Stevens of Plattsburgh, Kimberlee and Matthew Sorrell of Boulder, Colo., Michelle and Gregg Duval of Saranac and Scott, Laura, Charlotte, Sophia and Luke Stevens of Morrisonville.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Bleaux, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church officiating. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
