Plattsburgh — Allen J. Upton Thompson, 73, of Dogwood Ave., Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
He was born in Utica on July 12, 1930, son of Daisy Mae Upton.
Allen was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School.
He was a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Army.
He had been employed by Clinton Community College, retiring in 1985. Allen was a crossing guard for ten years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. Allen enjoyed Binge, Model T cars and gardening.
Allen is survived by his wife, Marlene G. (Macey) Thompson of Plattsburgh; three children and their spouses, Valerie and Shayne St. Denis of Plattsburgh, David Allen Thompson and Patti Chase of Keeseville and Kimberly and Robert Stansbury of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Angela Stansbury, Alyssa Stansbury, David Thompson and Michael Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
Allen was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Allen Stansbury; and his mother, Daisy Mae Upton.
Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the American Legion Post 20 will meet at 7:30 p.m. for services. A prayer service will be held at 9 p.m. Burial will be later in the year in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
