MASSENA — Anita E. (Light) Lemieux, age 89, formerly of Andrews Street, Massena, N.Y., died April 4, 2004, at the St. Regis Nursing Home.
She was born on May 30, 1914, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of the John Light and Agnes (Bouvier) Light.
Mrs. Lemieux was a homemaker. She was a member of Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association (LCBA), volunteer at St. Regis Nursing Home for 25 years, First Eucharist Minister at Sacred Heart Church and she was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship by the Rotary Foundation.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome (Jerry) A. Lemieux; two daughters, Anne Marie Larose of Jericho, Vt., and Michele L. Branon of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two sons, John N. Lemieux of Smithfield, R.I., and Peter G. Lemieux of Mesa, Ariz.; four sisters, Velida Kavanaugh of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Yvonne Herkalo of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Bernadette Dalton of Peru, N.Y., and Jeanne Farrington of Chazy, N.Y.; three brothers, Napoleon Light of Peru, N.Y., Andre Light of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Alfred Light of Cumberland Head, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Lemieux; a daughter, Joan A. Lemieux; a sister, Mildred Kirk; and a brother, Maynard Light.
