REDFORD — Alice Barie Maggy, 88, formerly of Clinton Street in Redford, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Redford on Sept. 9, 1915, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Strack) Barie.
Alice was a member of Church of the Assumption and a former member of the Altar Rosary Society.
Alice married Joseph A. Maggy on June 24, 1935, at the Church of the Assumption he died Feb. 6, 1997.
She was a cook for many years, working for MAI and later for Sacred Heart Nursing Home. Alice was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed cards. She also loved to cook for her family.
Survivors include, one son, Gerald Maggy of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Betty and Tom Weightman of Morrisonville, Mary Wood of Morrisonville and Constance (Connie) and Charles Hall of Redford; one sister, Anita Brown of Hampton, Va.; 8 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Leroy; three brothers, Isadore, George and Charles Barie; and one sister, Mary Barie.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Church of Assumption in Redford. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow at the Assumption of Mary School in Redford.
