Plattsburgh — William B. Barlow, 87, of Route 22, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Sharon, Conn., March 19, 1917, the son of Henry and Gladys (Burlingame) Barlow.
He graduated in 1940 from Rhode Island State University with a bachelor of arts.
Bill was a lifelong dairy farmer. Mr. Barlow married the love of his life, Doris (Shook) Barlow, Dec. 6, 1941, in South Amenia. Together they raised five children. Three daughters, Marylou Farnham of Dover Plains, Connie Sprossel of Snellville, Ga., and Doreen Newton of Wassaic; and two sons, Jesse and wife Sandra Barlow of Peru and Thomas and wife Wava Barlow of Mooers. Survivors also include 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alcy Nordeen of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary Asplund of Bloomer, Wis.; one brother, Robert Barlow of Geona; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Thomas; and two sisters, Jane Howard and Ruth Barlow.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
