WILLSBORO, N.Y. — William Oxley Randall, 89, of Middle Road, died Thursday morning, Jan. 1, 2004, at his home.
Born Oct. 29, 1914, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Sherman Bronson Randall and Bessie Agnes Thompson. Known as Bill, William was named after his maternal grandfather, William Oxley Thompson, president of Ohio State University for 25 of its formative years.
After the untimely death of his parents, Bill helped guide the lives of his two sisters through their high school years in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Bill Randall completed his high school studies at Columbus Academy and then graduated from Harvard University in 1936, with a degree in physics. He continued his studies at Michigan Law School, graduating in 1939. In 1940, Bill married his college sweetheart, Ann Louise Edwards of Lancaster, Pa., a Wellesley College graduate.
