Champlain — Mr. Albert O. Albe Hempstead, 60, of Cane Street, Champlain, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Albany, N.Y., on April 19, 1943, the son of William D. and Bertha (Ames) Hempstead. Albert enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Bertha Hempstead; a sister, Anna Mae Bradley; a brother, Manford E. Matt Hempstead; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Buehler.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Linda Bolia of Champlain and their children Brian Hempstead and his wife Heather of Champlain, Roger Hempstead and his wife Carol of Mooers; his estranged wife Angel and their children, Christopher and Ivan and his other children April, Laura and Michael Hempstead, all of the Capitol District area of Albany, N.Y.; several grandchildren; four brothers, William Bud Hempstead of Rennselaer, N.Y., Donald Hempstead and his wife Dayle of Altamont, Ronald Hempstead and his wife Kathy of Altamont and Timothy Hempstead and his wife Melinda of Hudson, N.Y.; two sisters, Judy Buehler of Delmar and Margaret Darling and her husband Dale of Cohoes; two cousins, Beverly Phillips and her husband Edward of Delmar, N.Y., and Carol Halsdorf and her husband David of Delmar, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday, March 6, 2004, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at noon at the Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Julie B. Bergdahl, pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, officiating.
