Marcy, NY — William F. Haley of 8980 River Road, Marcy, N.Y., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at his home with family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Aug. 11, 1937, son of James P. and Margaret M. (Wilson) Haley.
After graduation from St. Johns Academy in 1956, Bill served with the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959. Subsequent to his separation from the Navy, he lived in the Marcy, N.Y., area.
Bill married Linda Stringer of Marcy in 1962. The marriage ended in divorce.
In 1995, Bill married Joann Cavo of Utica whom was his caregiver while he was incapacitated before his death.
He retired from a career as a security guard at Utica State Hospital in 1998.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Haley; a brother, James L. Haley of Dublin, N.H.; and his sister, Mrs. John A. (Virginia Haley) Matt of Utica, N.Y.; and a grandchild, Sarah Constabile.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joann (Cavo) of Marcy; a sister, Kathleen B. (Haley) Thornton of Hull, Mass.; a brother, Robert A. Haley of Plattsburgh; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Anthony Constible and children, Anthony, Spencer, Brianna and Nicholas; his daughter and son-in-law, Becky and James Thompson and children, Jessie, Brett, James, Matt, Samantha and Jenna; his daughter, Tanya; his former wife, Linda Haley; also cousins; nieces; nephews; in-law relatives; and many friends.
At Bill's request, there were no calling hours. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
