Plattsburgh — Mrs. Yvonne M. Desautels, 97, formerly of Waterhouse Street, Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, Jan. l2, 2005, at the Meadow Brook Health Care Facility.
She was born in Fayston, Vt., on Aug. 23, 1907, the daughter of Ephram and Cecelia (Royer) Bedard.
Yvonne and her husband Gaston later owned and operated the Korina Lounge for 27 years retiring in 1972. They later operated the Essex Inn in Essex, N.Y.
Yvonne was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ephrarn and Cecelia Bedard; her husband, Gaston Desautels; her brothers, Alec, Hector, Leo, Ephram and Simon Bedard; her sisters, Blanche Dugal, Marion Rabideau, Betty Fowler, Rena Gusberti and Rose Bedard.
She is survived by her daughters, Irma Rousset and her husband Michael of Rockville, Md., Lucille Hanlon and her husband Donald of Peru; a son, Carlton Desautel and his wife Luci of Simcoe, Ontario; her brothers, Louis and his wife Marion of Ocean Springs, Miss., David Bedard and his wife Frances of Glens Falls, N.Y.; her sisters, Emma Plunkett of Plattsburgh, Catherine Cross of Tampa, Fla., Ceil Ryan of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; two grandsons, Michael Hanlon of Peru, James Desautels of High Prairie, Calgary, Canada; two great- grandchildren, Leah and Liam Desautels; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church with the Rev. Floyd Jerry Bleaux, pastor as celebrant. Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Friends wishing may have Masses said in her memory.
