Homestead, Fla. and Tupper Lake — Alma Lyden, age 88, of Homestead, Fla., and Tupper Lake, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at the Homestead Hospital, with her family by her side.
Alma is survived by five daughters, Carolyn Lemon and her husband James of Lake Placid, Fla., Chalice Dechene of Tupper Lake, N.Y., Jeanne Schauble of Hilton, N.Y., Janet Shearin-Gauthier of Homestead, Fla., and Teresa Gauthier of Willsboro, N.Y., and her companion Joan Sloper; also 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her sister-in-law, Bertha LaRouche of Tupper Lake, N.Y.
She was predeceased by the father of her children, Hubert Gauthier, who passed away in 1985; and by a brother, Vernon Blair.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake. Alma's funeral will commence on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. from the funeral home and 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., Utica, N.Y.
