Champlain — Albert E. Muskrat Martin Sr., 69, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by family.
Born in Rouses Point, on June 27, 1935, he was the son of Edward E. and Beatrice (Gero) Martin.
Albert worked for the Village of Rouses Point and was a member of the American Legion 912 in Rouses Point, having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for long rides with his wife. He also loved spending time with his granddaughter, Ashley Rose, and his nephew, Shane.
Survivors include his wife, Edith R. (LaFountain) Martin of Champlain; three sons, Albert E. Martin and his companion Jennifer LaDuke of Rouses Point, Brad Martin and his wife Gail of Rouses Point and Carl Martin of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Brenda Martin of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Fred and Philip Martin both of Rouses Point; a sister, Dora Breyette of Ellenburg Depot; a granddaughter, Ashley Rose Martin of Rouses Point; and several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Tina Marie; and a brother, Donald.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Department or to the Champlain Fire Department.
