AuSABLE FORKS — Alma (Mousseau) Nugent, 86, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid after a long illness.
She was born March 24, 1919, in AuSable Forks, the daughter of Albert and Leah (Betters) Mousseau.
Alma graduated from Holy Name School and Au Sable Forks Central School
in 1937. She worked briefly at the J&J Rogers Company in AuSable Forks and then became a full-time housewife. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Holy Name Catholic Church.
She spent many summers with her family at their camp at Fern Lake. She also loved to read.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Michael, and Nancy
Nugent of AuSable Forks; and one daughter, Joanne Nugent of Watertown.
Alma was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Nugent, whom she married in 1940 at Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks, and one sister, Ann Mousseau, who died May 26, 2005.
Memorials may be made to Holy Name School. Calling hours will be today, Monday, June 6, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home in AuSable Forks. A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday June 7, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church.
