ARLINGTON, Texas — William "Bill" Wood, 52, of Arlington, Texas passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, after a long illness.
He was born Aug. 31, 1953, the son of Donald H. and Helen (Houle) Wood of Riverview.
Bill worked most of his life as a salesman. In his younger days he worked construction all over the United States with Pre Load & Company. Became a laborer in Grand Prarie and suffered severe back problems. His next step was building and selling computers and programs to many large corporations. Selling ambulances had him on the road and enjoying the many people he came in contact.
Bill always had his famous smile and a joke or two for everyone. He had friends all over the United States and will be missed dearly by his friends and family.
He is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Donald J. Wood of Schuyler Falls and Gary and Venus Wood; two sisters, Dianne Wood and Penny Dashnaw and her companion Larry Woodward of Riverview. Bill was the favorite uncle of all his nieces and nephews, Randy, Douglas and his wife Lori, Wayne and Nancy, Brenda of Riverview, Kerie, Erica, Wanda and Tiffany of Plattsburgh, Kelly and Joel Coston of Wilmington, N.C., Matthew Dashnaw, Crystal and Daniel Joy; great-nieces and nephews, Roxanne Wood, Shawn, Karissa, Ryan, Kayla Wood of Saranac, Austin and Logan Wood of Onchiota, N.Y.; two great-great-nephews, Jordan Raymond Joy and Wyatt Steven Supinski of Plattsburgh.
He was predeceased by his parents; and nephew, Raymond L. Dashnaw in 1994.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held later in the spring.
