PLATTSBURGH — Andrew G. Coss Jr., 73, of Michaele Avenue, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in Andes, N.Y., on Oct. 26, 1932, the son of Andrew G. and Louise (Ingram) Coss Sr.
Andrew married the former Frances M. Miller in 1957 at the Old Base Chapel on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Frances died in 2002.
During his younger years, Andrew worked as a farm hand until joining the U.S. Air Force in 1956. He retired in 1976 as a staff sergeant, after 20 years of service. He then worked as a butcher at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Commissary from 1976 until his retiring due to illness in 1995.
Andrew enjoyed many things in life, including hunting, fishing and bingo.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard L. and Diane Coss of Ellenburg Depot and Wayne J. and Michele Coss of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Cheryl Coss of Plattsburgh and Melody Coss of Peru; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold and Peggy Coss of Kansas City, Mo., and Douglas Coss of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.
Burial will take place in the spring in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of the North Country.
