JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. — Mrs. Alice E. Kitchen, 94, of Johnstown, N.Y., formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away June 20, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, N.Y., after a brief illness. She was the wife of William Leslie Kitchen Sr., who died in 1977 and was a contractor in the Plattsburgh area. She moved to Johnstown in 1990.
She is survived by two daughters, L. Marie Valachovic and Ruth J. Miller and her husband Albert, both of Johnstown; and three sons, William L. Kitchen Jr. and his wife Sally of Johnstown, Charles R. Kitchen and his wife Brenda of Long Lake, N.Y., and John D. Kitchen and his wife Barbara of Keeseville, N.Y. She is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Mc Guillicuddy and Pauline Davis, both of New Brunswick, Canada; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandson; nieces, nephews; and cousins.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ehle Funeral Home, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, N.Y. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church.
